Luigi Pirandello

.

I think that life is a very sad piece of buffoonery; because we have in ourselves, without being able to know why, wherefore or whence, the need to deceive ourselves constantly by creating a reality (one for each and never the same for all), which from time to time is discovered to be vain and illusory . . . My art is full of bitter compassion for all those who deceive themselves; but this compassion cannot fail to be followed by the ferocious derision of destiny which condemns man to deception.

Heh congratulations on getting a comment posted by the Lawman. It seems that he deletes all of mine these days. Doesn't matter if I am pointing out his rampant dishonesty or not.

I posted a reply which he allowed onto his blog, but no rebuttal yet :(

Yes, in fact your reply confirms that's he's just completely deleting mine because my last posting attempt was very, very similar to yours.

Took a look at your painting stuff, some very nice work!

Cool, that reminds me to update it, just moved from newlands to Aro Valley.

If Tony didn't reply when he approved your post I wouldn't expect a reply from him, maybe just the other bloggers.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what he could say. His model of the world is only consistent as long as you can paint other groups, eg: the science community, as evil caricatures.

As soon as begin to look at any element in detail, everything becomes blatantly absurd. There's no option but retreat.

I miss NZ, i will move back one day!

Yes it's a weird world they have to create for themselves, where millions and millions of Scientists, Christians and otherwise are deliberately deceiving themselves over the science they are working on first hand.

Very weird.

It seems to be it must be a very exhausting way to live after a while. You constantly have to scrutinize all information you come across to make sure it fits within your paradigm, and construct elaborate, if shallow, internal arguments for rejecting that which doesn't fit.

I can't help if wonder if this is the origin of the persecution complex that so many of them exhibit. They must really feel as if world is constantly attacking them.

But it is fascinating to watch!!
